This is Camille Walala she is a designer based in East London she works with a variation of different medias and scales. Below is current work being produced at her home studio, using the manipulation of coloured paper and patterned paper creating new formations. Walala's colour palette is bold and vibrant bringing the viewer in through these block colour formations.
Also, Walala uses optimistic typography and geometric's to create environments that stimulate the senses and inspire joy, this is seen through many of her works and installations within galleries and public outdoor spaces. Walala is very inspirational when it comes to creative research personally, as, she defies the ordinary and creates something excellent.
Camille Walala has inspired myself through many hard times and rough patches when it comes to designing. By looking at her work it reminds me that simplistic, beautiful and colourful art and design can speaks a thousands words as well as the finer detail within other designers. I decided in order to fuel my own creative juices I would create my own response to these paper collages using my own colour palette and shapes that link with my own personal major project within university.
Above is my response to her current paper manipulation. By combining a mixture of bold, bright and subtle colours it gives the design a depth that can be seen through the collaging of shapes. Also, it shows the possibilities of what the different shapes can become, for example, i can see the shapes transferring into harder materials. These materials being: Enamel, Glass, Acrylic plastic and wire.
